 September 2016
The award winning painting of 'Ben Nevis - The North Face' has been used this summer by The Single Malt Academy of Dalecarlia - Sweden's largest whisky club, who have bottled a very special whisky. It is titled 'Ben Nevis' a 20 year old single cask malt whisky matured and distilled at Ben Nevis Distillery as a limited edition.

The Academy have licensed an image of the painting to be used as part of their label.

Phil's next event is an artist's residency. He has been invited to work in the 'Nature in Art' studio which will include exhibits of some of his paintings, drawings and prints. This will be held at:
Nature in Art, Twigworth (just off the A38), Gloucester. GL2 9PA
from Tuesday 23rd September - Sunday 28th September.

Art up Close is a Cheshire based group of dedicated artists that Phil has been invited to join. They are largley Painters, Sculptors, Ceramicists, Graphic artists, Illustrators Photograhers etc. who share in promoting themselves through their website and group exhibitions along with workshops kindly coordinted by Lindsey Piper.

  Autumn 2013
Phil's entry for The Keele Three Counties Open Art Exhibition was awarded the prestigous Arthur Berry Trust Prize for painting. The painting is entitled Ptarmigan, Lochnagar.

Lost Arrow  The Climbers’ Club Journal 2012
A personal essay written by Phil entitled ‘Arrow Climbers’ is about climbing Yosemite's daunting Lost Arrow Chimney combined with the Lost Arrow Spire in 1978.

A presentation of a Craig Bwlch y Moch print was made to Ian Smith for The George Band Award in recognition of his exceptional voluntary contribution to Mountaineering.

The award was presented by BMC President
Rehan Siddiqui and BMC CEO Dave Turnbull.

BMC Bwlch y Moch
Phil Gibson's Limited-edition Craig Bwlch y Moch Prints

As a fundraising initiative for the BMC Access and Conservation Trust (ACT) the British Mountaineering Council commissioned an ink drawing along with 100 Ltd-edition framed prints of Craig Bwlch y Moch. This crag is owned  and managed by the BMC.
Each print has been personally signed by leading Tremadog pioneers : Joe Brown, Ron Fawcett and Eric Jones.

My inclusion in a book entitled ‘The Artists of the Alpine Club’ has been released by The Alpine Club. Compiled by Peter Mallalieu, Keeper of Pictures this second edition will provide an invaluable source for mountaineers, archivists, museums and galleries. The book contains 252 pages with high quality images in full colour of the most important mountain artists.
